"La Massa" Theater
Plaça del Teatre, Vilassar de Dalt, Spanien
The committed task was to restore the old theater built by Rafael Gustavo in 1881, located at the interior of a courtyard and behind of the promoter’s social office. There was the need to give a new access to the building, a new façade, autonomy, and regain its role on the public spaces and cultural buildings of Vilassar de Dalt. It was necessary to recover an adequate stage, but most of all was essential to restore the structural system made of Catalan Vaults and the central dome -an expression of a depurated and traditional technology- controlling all the acoustic and functional problems resulting from geometry.
