Retail Fit-Out, Artificial Olive Trees and FireSilx FR Planting.
END Clothing has built a reputation as one of the most respected names in fashion and streetwear retail since opening its first store in Newcastle in 2005. With flagship locations now in Manchester, London, and Milan, the brand's store environments carry as much weight as the product inside them. When END opened their Manchester city centre store, the brief extended to the fit-out details, and that included the planting.
The project called for a series of artificial olive trees and a selection of accompanying planting throughout the space. Real plants were ruled out from the start, given the practical demands of a busy retail environment and the maintenance that would follow.
Matching the trunks to the required proportions was the starting point. We sourced natural olive trunks from sustainably managed farms, selecting each one for its scale and character. The canopies were then foliated using our FireSilx inherently fire retardant olive foliage, which gives the trees the kind of texture and detail that holds up to close inspection in a retail setting.
For the planters, we worked closely with the project designer to manufacture custom-cut polystyrene inserts, shaped to sit flush within each unit. The surface was finished with decorative stone. The wider planting selection was drawn from our FireSilx FR collection, chosen to sit within END's considered aesthetic without drawing attention away from it.
As standard with all FireSilx products, official FR certification was provided, covering the fire safety requirements for a commercial retail environment of this type. Our team handled the final installation on site in Manchester, coordinating directly with the project manager and other contractors to make sure every element landed as intended.
