Three Columns

Germany

The Three Columns are situated on the Ways of Life campus by Lake Edersee, Germany, serving as a central element of the community. These structures house a series of rooms tailored for creatives, artists, architects, and students, featuring ateliers and communal spaces designed to foster collaboration and innovation.

The internal supporting structure is crafted from a wooden framework sourced from local woodlands, ensuring a connection to the surrounding environment. The facades are clad in materials salvaged from other construction sites items that would otherwise have been discarded including reddish clinker bricks, larch boards of varying thicknesses, and clay-lime plaster. This resourceful approach not only minimizes waste but also emphasizes the aesthetic potential of repurposed materials, giving the building its distinctive and sustainable character.

More than just a physical structure, the Three Columns embody openness and hospitality, inviting individuals to connect, create, and collaborate within its welcoming spaces.
