Doctor Moisès Broggi Hospital

The hospital is situated at the western limit of Barcelona, in a consolidation area in Sant Joan Despí tightly connected to its surroundings. This is a new building designed to give service to 300,000 inhabitants in the Baix Llobregat district.
The idea was for a building of easy accessibility, adapted to the land and with a layout permitting convenient and simple location for the users. A balance had to be found between the magnitude of the programme and the wish to provide patios and a garden area close to the hospitalization blocks. For this reason, the internal routes for users are minimised and several functions are arranged on the basement floors.
